Alright Rudy, I LOVE this stuff so you gotta post your top 10 (or 20!) albums in this style.
This is a new CD I have to get, I only have this title track. Tasty groove, but the song itself, I think, is awesome, really great hook. Michael White is the drummer. Apart from loads of sessions, I think he's the drummer that was with Maze, and I used to love maze. Maysa used to be with Incognito. Enjoy this track!

If there's just one CD out of this lot that you should get, I would recommend Ledisi, it's an amazing CD. Originally posted by Derek DeFields:

D-Man!!!
'Tis kinda old, but do you have the Charles & Friedman CD called Junkyard? Reminiscent of this type of stuff.
Kickn' list my brother!!! There are quite a few of these that I have not heard but trust me I will!! "Keep It In The Pocket" PT.
Pocketime, check out the Me'shell album "Peace Beyond Passion" on that list. Oliver Gene Lake is on drums, and that cat is SMOKIN'! Incredible groove. One of my absolute favorite players.
Couldn't agree with you more man, Oliver gene lake has impeccable time and amazing groove. I've got another meshell CD called cookie, with him on. Great drumming still, shitty album though compared to those 2.
"Oliver Gene Lake" - is this the same Gene Lake NY session ace /David Sanborn/etc etc?!
He could be, but I'm not sure. He played with Steve Coleman, and I believe he's on D'Angelo's "Brown Sugar" album. But I could be wrong about that.
